Next time you get a pizza pie at East Hill Pizza, at the front of the pizza box will be a picture and information about an adoptable animal at the Escambia County Animal Shelter. 

"Someone might see Penny Lee and think of I really like want a  K-9 companion and go adopt a different dog, so it's just an opportunity to share the beautiful animals that are available at the shelter," said Kim Rainer with the Friends of the Escambia County Animal Shelter. 

The pizza project idea came from a shelter in New York, Rainer said if it work there why not try it in Escambia County. 

At East Hill Pizza we use about 200 pizza boxes a week. 

"Well that's 200 flyers that are being sent out in the community talking about our animals," Rainer said.
